Édouard Manet visited in 1900 Spain for the first time, it was during this period that the artist developed his long standing fascination with the country. After this first visit there, were he copied works by Velázquez in Madrid´s Museo del Prado, he made biannual trips from 1906 to 1912, painting, often teaching and constantly absorbing Spanish life and culture.

This book presents a selection of letter that Manet interchanged during those trips to Spain with Baudelair or Fantin-Latour among others.
