The central motif of the design, by Tusitala Bc., is a detail from Gonzalo Bilbao´s painting A Girl with a Shawl, from Carmen Thyssen's collection of costumbrista paintings.

The canvas, completed circa 1910, is a fine example of the female portraits that were part of Gonzalo Bilbao´s pictorial output.
