Catalogue of the monographic exhibition that the museum dedicated to Argentinian artist Mercedes Lasarte, with works from the Carmen Thyssen Collection. The book, with full-page illustrations of more than 50 works, testifies to Lasarte's passionate love of color.
Mercedes Lasarte has been portraying Carmen Thyssen's day-to-day existence since 1970. As an eyewitness to many of the most important moments in the Baroness’s life, Lasarte’s paintings constitute her material and emotional biography.
The artist has always painted freely and without stylistic constraints, paying special attention to the human figure and the landscape. This publication reveals the most personal, intense, vibrant facet of her painting, influenced by Fauvism and close to Cloisonnism.
